The Surveyor Exchange is an online marketplace that serves the Surveying, Construction and Measuring industries. We bring together buyers and sellers of excess inventory, surplus product and used equipment through our marketplace of classified ad listings. Buyers can browse or search the site listings. Sellers can purchase listing packages and showcase items available for sale through classified ad listings. The Surveyor Exchange does not currently process transactions; transactions are handled offline between the buyer and the seller.

How do I register and create a user account?

To use all the functionality on The Surveyor Exchange, you must register and create a user account. Registration is FREE. You will be asked to provide information about yourself and your company. You must also select a username and password; this information is required to login to your user account. Before completing the registration process you are requried to read our Terms and Conditions for the site.

How do I browse the classified ads?

The classified ad listings on The Surveyor Exchange are organized into a series of categories. These categories can be found on the left hand side of the Home page of the site. To browse the classified ads, simply click on a category. You will find the listings arranged in the chronological order with the newest and featured classified ad listings at the top of the page. Click on the headline or title of the listing to see additional details.

How do I search the classified ad listings?

The Surveyor Exchange has a search functionality that enables you to search the classified ad listings by:

Keywords
Category
Price Range
Country, State, City or Zip code
Item Condition
Manufacturer
Part/Model Number

What is a Listing Filter?

The Listing Filter functionality on The Surveyor Exchange allows a registered user to create a query on the site to search for classified ad listings that match the users criteria. The query will search the site looking for classified ads the meet the criteria. When the Listing Filter finds an ad(s) that meet the criteria, The Surveyor Exchange will send an email to the user with the ad details. Listing Filters can be created and deleted through your user account.

Buying

How do I get started buying?

You may browse the classified ad listings on The Surveyor Exchange without registering with the site. However, when you see a classified ad listing that interests you, and you want to contact the seller, you must be a registered user and create a user account on the site. Creating a user account is FREE! Browse the classified ad listings on our site or purchase a classified ad listing package and create “wanted” ads to attract sellers. When you see a classified ad listing that is of interest, you can contact the seller listed in the ad. You work with the seller to arrange purchase and delivery terms. Configure the Listing Filter tool and The Surveyor Exchange will email you the classified ads that meet your criteria.

How do I contact a seller?

When you see a classified ad listing on The Surveyor Exchange that interests you, you can contact the seller who posted the ad. Simply login to your user account and click on "Contact Seller". The site will provide you with a form to write and submit your message to the seller. The message will be sent to the seller's email on file. Your contact information will be provided in the email so that the seller can reply to you.

How do I complete a transaction with a seller?

At this time, The Surveyor Exchange does not process transactions between buyers and sellers directly through the site. Instead, buyers and sellers work together offline to process transactions.

What if I have a complaint about a seller?

The Surveyor Exchange does not currently allow site users to submit feedback (e.g. positive, negative, neutral) about other users through the site. The Surveyor Exchange is not responsible for any behavior by buyers or sellers on the site. Please read and familiarize yourself with our Terms and Conditions prior to registering or using our site.

How do I edit my user account information?

The My Account Information page in the My Account tab lets the user change his/her basic account information including name, address and password. This information was originally entered during the registration process. If the user does not want to change the password on the account, the password field should be left blank. After the changes has been made click on the Update button to save them.

I forgot my password.

If you have forgotton your password, click on the Forgot Your Password link on the Home page. It will take you to a form to enter your email or username. Click submit and the site will send you an email containing your username and password.

How do I close my user account?

In order to close your account, please email Customer Service and provide them both your username and the first and last names associated with the user account. Customer Service will close the account and notify you via email.
